As I said, I was there when he got the nickname 'Killer'. Three or four boys, then in their third year, I think, had a fit of the giggles during Duty (house evening prayers) in Thornton B. He caned them very hard. I was a junior monitor and heard the subsequent talk among these boys and their contemporaries. I can say with certainty that this was the first time I heard the nickname applied.

Captain Richard N Fry MC

There will be a celebration of the life of Captain Richard N Fry on Sunday 26 Feb 2017 at the chapel, Christ’s Hospital, Horsham, Sussex. Details of Captain Fry, who won a MC under Alasdair Pearson, with 8 Para in Normandy can be found here https://paradata.org.uk/people/richard-n-fry

Regretfully, for me, 'Time marches on' and age procludes !!
