I'm surprised we haven't heard from him during this burst of activity on the forum.
I always enjoy and value his contributions regardless of whether I agree or disagree with him.
Hope he's ok.

I’d been wondering that too. I think that all the cases were after his time, after JR’s too. That hasn’t stopped both JR and myself following in horror!

Let me re-run the limerick I wrote for him. If by any chance he's gone to the great ivy-encrusted cloister in the sky it can serve as an epitaph:
An eminent Doctor called Scuffil
Was prone to the pedagogue shuffle.
The theories did flow,
Sometimes just a bon mot,
But he always delivered a truffle.

There must be a few of our lot (JR, MS, PWB, Me) who might pop our clogs at some point. Perhaps the moderators could prepare some obituaries ready for the occasion like the papers do. Banker Brown isn't posting quite so much these days - perhaps he won't be long he departs for the great foreign exchange in the sky where baskets of currencies are always in perfect equilibrium and competitive devaluations are unknown.

When I became the OB editor, my predecessor, Paddy Drake, said that one of the best things I could do for my successors, was to prepare my own obituary. At least then, it would not need editing.

When my brother-in-law died he left very detailed papers for his widow. Not only had he prepared the forms for obtaining probate and lists of who had to be informed (including the wording to be used) but also list of what should be sold where and for how much (mainly on e-bay) but also the house had to be sold, she should move to Essex and the dog given to (a neighbour). Writing your obituary seems a relatively easy matter.

My uncle had just done exactly the same, even getting the family grave cleaned up before he arrives. His funeral was last Tuesday. We just have to follow his instructions.
His eulogy appeared to be more hearsay than fact.

(And a holiday means among other things an internet-free period.)
But thanks for your concern. I'll let you know when to get out the obituaries.
