And the moral of the story is that even the clown knew it was wrong.
So why didn't the Senior Management Team?

Re: What was the food chain?
Your terminology is anachronistic. It hardly applied to industry and commerce in the 1950s, and if you'd applied the term 'management', let alone 'management team', to a school at that time you would have been met with looks of incomprehension.
But I know what you mean. The Head of the Prep, Mr Jones ('Jonah'), must have had an inkling, and I would have thought Flecker must have done too. So my earlier point, that Pink's departure and Seaman's arrival were more than just a temporal coincidence may well hold true.

It didn't apply in your time or mine (1970s) but it did by the mid 1990s albeit they dont appear to have had a clue about how to deal with sexual abuse.

Oh well.
Two cannibals sitting and picking their teeth after eating a clown.
One looks at the other and says, "Did that taste funny to you ?"
Well, you did ask.

A word in favour of house clowns (certainly back in that era). I believe that they performed a useful therapeutic function in cocking a snook at authority, providing a safety valve and keeping people's spirits up. Was it Angela Woodford who said she was resigned to being the comedy person of the time at Hertford?

I think Angela did say that. Our age difference means that she remembers me as I was in the VI form when she joined 6s, but I don't remember her, neither as a clown nor as anything else.

Re: What was the food chain?
There's nothing wrong with not being remembered. No one on this site appears to remember me. Even JR only thinks he remembers me and we were in the same bleddy house for two years. I always enjoyed Angela's posts. What a pity she doesn't post more.
