Anything that doesn't fit anywhere else, but that's still CH related.

I've never had lunch on St Matts, probably why the effects of the alcohol seem stronger... That and starting drinking at 11am

Only 11am? Start around Smithfields Market and you can start drinking at about 6am when the market porters finish work.

Not that I would condone any boozey loutish behaviour at any event that might bring the good name of CH into ill repute et c..... (cough)

Acutally - if anyone is crazy enough to drive up & into town, I can offer a couple of parking spaces at my house near the Oval (gated & CCTV) & just outside the congestion zone. You would still need to get the tube/bus into town (or walk - but takes a while).

Is this an ongoing offer? It occurs to me that there is a possibility that a bed in town could be exchanged for a bed in Cornwall on an occasional basis - or vice versa!!

I guess so. Assuming you're not a mad axe murderer, of course.

Interesting that more recent Old Blues go to St Matt's day then OB's day...

OB vs. St Matts - No hard sell. No obligation. Oh yeah - and virtually on my doorstep.

Official info from CHA Office:-

Here is the route and approximate timings...
March begins approximately 10:45 and travels along:
New Bridge Street
Farringdon Street
Charterhouse Street
Holborn Viaduct

After the Service - approximately 12:15
Holborn Viaduct
Newgate Street
King Edward Street
Angel Street
Martin's Le Grand
Cheapside
King Street

then into Guildhall Yard.

PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO GET INTO GUILDHALL YARD - for security reasons this is reserved only for the School and unfortunately not for parents/Old Blues.

NB Also that the SERVICE IS JUST FOR THE SCHOOL and GOVERNORS as attendance is strictly by invitation (and hence ticket) ONLY.

Spare room exchange

Post by englishangel »

Looks like there might be room for a forum to let out spare rooms for short visits.

Or perhaps one like 'Axe-murdering OBs'

Anyone likely to have a camera with them today? Being some 300 miles west of the Guildhall, it is not possible for me to get there. I would love a pic or even a short video of the marching if someone could email it to me.

My son Jonathan (a new dep) tells me he will marching be in the front rank of the choir which will be bringinging up the rear of the procession from St Andrew's to the Giuildhall. (I understand that the choir will not be marching to the church as they will be there already.) It would be great to have a record of this.

It is already raining quite heavily in Cornwall, but I understand the rain may well hold off in London until the late afternoon.

Happy St Matthews Day to One and All!

If anyone can take a short video or does take pictures, do post them here or forward them on to me and I'll put them on the server.

David:- How's you son getting on? What are his initial impression after his first few weeks??
