Has anyone seen the Rock School ad on C4?
Angie, my fiancée, saw it yesterday - she said it is how you would expect, with the uniform featuring heavily!

According to someone I spoke to on Friday, Channel 4 are spending their biggest-ever amount on advertising it over here.....
I'll reserve judgement on whether that's a good thing until I've seen it!

Yes I have seen the ad - but it is not as good as the real thing.
I have now seen all 6 programmes (downloaded from an American website as explained elsewhere on this forum) I think it is far better than ever I could have hoped - I actually found the last episode quite moving!
Everyone comes over well especially the children. The glimpses of the school are well filmed especially the brief chapel scenes, Mary Ireland (the Deputy Head) comes over with a great sense of humour. She tells me that, contrary to my earlier impressions posted here, none of the scenes between her and Gene Simmons were contrived. Gene Simmons himself improves immeasurably the more one gets to know him as the series progresses. I think much of what he does is self-parody, and he obviously has a good, if unusual, relationship with the kids. I was left with a distinctly warm feeling towards all those involved - an unusual reaction to modern reality TV. It is a gentle, friendly, warm-hearted and amusing show. You should watch it.
If I have any worries, it concerns the future for these kids. I understand that Josh ("the Emperor") has already been scheduled for interviews including one with T2. Their lives will obviously never be the same again, but I hope they do not change for the worse.

Thanks Richard ! Yes - I've caught up.
Saw the ad. twice on Channel 4 last night. (Had to check 'The Films they wanted to Ban', didn't I ?)
Errrm - Excuse me, but exactly WHO is this aging American heavy metal rocker, and exactly what is his connection with C.H. I take it he must be of the Ozzy Osbourne ilk, but can't say I can place him.
Who's brain-child was this program ? Wouldn't have even got off the drawing board in my day. 'Bill' Bailey must be turning in his grave !
