Economics Graduate looking for work (USA/East Coast)

I will be graduating university in December, having studied in Charleston, South Carolina, with a degree in Economics. If there are any Old Blues that could give advice with pursuing a career within the United States (UK Citizen) I would be very receptive to any advice or opportunities. I'm particularly interested working within the financial sector; this may sound contrived due to the drive of many purely for exorbitant financial gains, but having worked in a philanthropically based sales/management position while in university, I found this to be extremely interesting and its diverse nature would help to make it a challenging career.
