The best way to forget your troubles is to wear tight shoes.

Is that really an oboe player wearing gloves whilst playing? I would have thought that was quite a challenge.....

I used to wear fingerless gloves on lunch parade when it was really cold, but never out for a formal event.

when they televise the Remembrance Day service on the BBC most of the army musicians are wearing gloves (not that you get oboes in army marching bands).

I used to wear fingerless gloves in winter at CH for lunch parade as it would be freezing. I tried wearing gloves with the band I now play in at the Frost Fair (held in December on the South Bank in London) and found it messed up how I held the bassoon, so froze instead (apt for a Frost Fair I suppose!).

is there any way of changing the photos on the CH site so that when you click on them they come up a bit bigger?

NBoticed that at least one RMS boy had his breeches down to about one handswidth from his shoes instead of just below the knee. A button grecian with his bands askew ..... There also seem to be both black and brown girdles - any significance?

Fings ain't wot they used to be!

It's called a rhetorical question.
