Oh the shame - I still have towels, pillow cases and hockey socks with my name tags on them  My mum sewed them on too well for me to take them off when I no longer needed them. (admittedly they are now my old, spare towels and rarely see the light of day - but still  )

Oh my God.

I knew the school takes nametaping slightly too seriously, or at least overzealously, but I can't believe they actually set up a website about it!
Before you come to CH and see all the sheets with instructions, it gives the impression that it's absolutely crucial to put them exactly where it says, etc., but in reality it's not like that at all.

How did you find that site? I've also found loads of sections of the school's official website that don't have links from the main website.

I just looked up Christ's Hospital photos on Google. It was the last thing I was expecting to find!

I don't think after the squits (when neither I nor my mum knew any better) I had any name labels showing on the outside of any clothes. That would have been too embarrassing!

Don't worry - we have a rug with my Dad's name tape from Maine A on it!

Well there's certainly no excuse now as I have a different surname! If only I'd had it (Smith) at CH. A fourteen letter, double barrelled surname was a real bu&&er for sewing on name tapes (and in later life for ordering taxis).

I suppose I should count myself lucky I wasn't in Leigh Hunt too!
