Mr Ruck, I do believe you're magic. I am already doing on-line research as you suggest - it's more for interest (something to write in my discussion) but will definitely be included..
And yep, I'm using the obits at the back of the paper in the family notices bit. The ones in the broadsheets aren't what you might call 'revealing' in the way that I need.
