My builder (yes, he of the bathroom fame) said I was "fastidious". I must have made a face like this: because he went on to dig a large hole explaning that this was positively a good trait...
When questioned, he said he'd noticed how everything was in it's place and there was a place for everything in my flat. This is definitely a hang over from school where it paid to know where everything was all (well, alright, most) of the time.

I am the untidiest person I know. Unfortunately my husband and sons are the second, third and fourth untidiest people, and we are all hoarders which makes it worse. My daughter is quite tidy.FrogBoxed wrote:My builder (yes, he of the bathroom fame) said I was "fastidious". We lived in US for 4 years in a house of approximately 2000 sq ft (that is how they describe houses over there) and moved back 12 years ago into one of 1200 sq.ft. I don't think the males have thrown anything away since then, and of course 20 and 17 year olds are a lot bigger than 5 and 8 year-olds.

Is " hoarding" perhaps a CH trait ? I am incapable of throwing anything away " just in case it's useful one day " ... I have a box-room stuffed full of useless things and outgrown clothes.
I finally gave away the stash of baby clothes and the pram when Laura was 11 years old....

Friday's were fish and chips day right? In the years before the cafeteria system, if you sat down the end of your table, the chances of you getting any chips was limited (as has been discussed in many other posts). If you did manage to get chips, you licked them to prevent others grabbing them off your plate.cj wrote:Please elaborate on this!BTaylor wrote:I still lick my chips.
this was especially problematic if you were in the band and got into dining hall late.
Simple and sensible in my mind.
As to whether I still do it now....well, that might have been a slight exaggeration.
