cstegerlewis wrote:Much easier - "Will You" by Hazel O'Connor, actually covered by the Dance Band in about 86 with Jim ???? playing the sax solo and I really can't remember the soloist, but I can picture her face (how annoying is that).

Now for all you pop pickers out there:

I dreamt about you last night
and I fell out of bed twice
you can pin and mount me like a butterfly

So "take me to the haven of your bed"
was something that you never said
two lumps please, you're the bees knees
but so am I
I have such a bad memory - no recollection of that at all!

How bout this...

I'm a disco reptile
a funky alligator

"Thy fame is ancient as the days,
As Ocean large and wide:
A pride that dares, and heeds not praise,
A stern and silent pride:
Not that false joy that dreams content
With what our sires have won;
The blood a hero sire hath spent
Still nerves a hero son."
Everyone knows this song!? You should do...

I bet everyone has sung it.

Had to think about this one, but a root around in the L.P. collection confirmed it :

Prime Mover, by Zodiac Mindwarp and The Love Reaction.

Great stuff!

An easy one from the '60s:

One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small,
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all.
Go ask Alice
When she's ten feet tall.

Sounds like the Stones with Mother's little Helper but I can't find the record to check.

Which 60's group sang?

Swing low sweet Chariot

And what is the name of the 2-3,000 groups around the world who consider it their anthem?

(Claimed long before the lads at Twickenham took it up)

Well that one didn't quite work, although if adlop is still on line occasionally I am surprised he didn't get that one.

So going to more mainstream 80's & 90's stuff how about:

"Now I’ve swung back down again
It’s worse than it was before
If I hadn’t seen such riches
I could live with being poor"

Ahhh, "White Rabbit" by the Jefferson Airplane. A true classic.

While we're in the 60's, how about this:

The little man who gets the train
got a mortgage hanging over his head
but he's too scared to complain
cause he's conditioned that way.
Time goes by and he pays off his debts
got a tv set and radio
for seven shillings a week

With those lyrics, and from the '60s - something by The Kinks, maybe?

Just having a guess here......

A bit lost with this one. The Staple Singers, perhaps?

A supergroup, one of whose members started off in the Yardbirds.

Sorry to repeat it, but ...
