Amazing? Maybe if it was a higher spec model. An early R100 with minimal rust is very unusual and worth a post. What's wrong with having soapsuds around it? Gives a good snow/ice effect as pointed out.
nothing at all- shows it didn`t get washed.

Yes, it stuck to the road quite well and got there pretty quick too. I no longer drive at high speeds. On recent holiday in Dorset & Devon was called "James May" and "Captain Slow" by OB friends as I was sticking religiously to the limits. I like high speed and swift acceleration but only in a controlled and safe manner. Have experienced 120+ in Mercedes and approx 130 in Alfa (both occasions as passenger).
very wise under the circumstances!!! :D

Ah, the Rover 100 aka the humble Metro - the 1.4 engine makes them quite quick though doesn't it?

They're not too scary on corners as they hold the road quite well. Just got to make sure to stay on the road as they've only got a 1 star NCAP crash test rating.

I've noticed that you currently own a Ford Focus 1.8. Good choice... I had to drive the 1.6 version when taking driving lessons with the AA. Very good car, feels a lot lighter than it looks.
