Steve Irwin is Dead.

Post by J.R. »

Steve Irwin is Dead.

His sharp up front docu-filming of wildlife finally caught up with Steve in a terrible freak accident when he was killed by a sting-ray.

As much as I sometimes found him irritating and over the top, I had to admire his presentation.

A sad loss.

Crikey!

A real bit of bad luck there. Given that a large proportion of Australian fauna is positively gagging to inflict injury and death on the human race the poor bloke gets topped by a creature which has only been responsible for one previously reported death.

There's probably a greater chance of being killed by a falling koala.

His acceptance of risk was nearly his undoing on other occasions; when we were in Australia he was out of commission with some injury.

This accident is hardly surprising despite his knowledge but nevertheless a sad loss.

Somehow I thought he wouldn't be around for an extended period of time.

I have already received a couple of j.peg funnies on the subject. It doesn't take long, does is ?

Jude, Mrs C or English Angel may be able to forward to those of you with a sick sense of humour.

I find posting pics on this site too time consuming !

I had a jpeg funny within an hour of finding it out...

It is a sad loss - he did nkow what he was doing but by all accounts he was a happy family man with a passion for the conservation of animals...

I see that there has been talk of a state funeral but his father has said this is not what Steve would have wanted.

it is sad and a great loss to the conservation of aussie wildlife.

but....
as far as i am aware, he must have done something to annoy the stingray for it to sting him.

he also endorsed john howard. duh.

I thought his vitality of putting over the necessity of preservation of nature a brilliant way for kids. I was shocked to see his death on AOL - aparently it is all on film.

I will miss him - but no doubt the Austrailian Zoo and his family (his kiddies were SO sweet) will miss him more...

A sad day for animal protectors.

I would prefer to remember him with taste rather by a jpg.. It's all so sordid these days - pop your clogs and some one has been waiting all year to use that gag on you.....
