Oh great Dave, thanks for that, I have learned something new today so, mission accomplished. I used to holiday regulary in and around the Lizard and I loved it when the local radio switched over to Cornish speaking for a nit every day, didn't understand a damn word but it sounded fun.

I have realised that there are so many "famous" people around, that it is almost impossible not to "bump" into them.

So before I sign off, and whilst I still remember,

Aitana Sánchez-Gijón (Spanish actress) who starred in The Chambermaid on the Titanic and A Walk in the Clouds (with Keanu Reeves). She stayed in one of the guest houses in the village when she had her first child in a neighbouring village, where there is a hospital which specialises in births in the water. None of the paparazzi found her and she danced barefoot in the village fiestas with all the villagers. (The rest of us kept our shoes on)

Infanta Elena, who ordered coffee next to me in the airport bar in Paris. She was in a group of 4, although only she and I presume her bodyguard, came to the bar. No fuss and I think she boarded the plane with the rest of us.

Prince Charles, who inaugurated a bank office I put up in Buenos Aires. Not as stuck up as I thought he would be, and charmed the local staff by going and chatting to them.

Sue Townsend (of Adrian Mole fame), who was signing books in Amsterdam. No-one else was around so we chatted for a while and she signed my purchase, wishing me well in Madrid.

I saw him on Waterloo Station, wearing a very loud lime-green suit. Perhaps he was trying to remain incognito!

Aaaah, The Rezillos. Here's Fay and the boys doing "(I love my baby 'cos she does) Good Sculptures" on the Old Grey Whistle Test :

We have all seen so many famous people that I am begining to wonder if there are any normal people left on this earth.
I once made the Duke of Edinburgh laugh till he cried because I started a security scare! He was doing something in the offices of the London Officer Training Corps of London Uni, trouble is that Ken (ex-para and my fitness instructor) and I had no idea he would be there. So we came around the corner in full combat kit each with a pole weighted to the same weight as an SLR. We had being doing a 10K tab. The security detail went mad and drew weapons thinking we were the IRA. When all was sorted, he wanted to know why all the army kit so I explained that I was going for a commission in the Paras. He wished me luck and told me he hadn't had so much fun in years. Being a royal must be boring then!

If you are a footy fan and support Chelsea, then do your shopping at Waitrose, Cobham. Two of our Girl members work there part-time to earn a few bob and are now on talking terms with at least a couple of the England squad. I'm told that Frank Lampard is absolutely charming !

If you want good and cheap food on The Kings Road try Stockpot

Its unpretentious and has been there for ever

Just had liver & bacon for lunch and Jane had an enormous chicken salad

Doubt you'd see anyone famous there but in that road you sometimes need a break from them!

I have plans to be there in March but my mother still lives in London and she has a genius for getting into trouble that requires me to drive down with my wife
