Why Is It That Women.....
are hysterically frightened of tiny little spiders and Daddy Long Legs yet remain totally calm in the presence of boisterous large dogs?
Doesn't make sense to me!

Beacause anything that has more than 4 legs or fewer than 2 is by nature scary. I had the quickest shower ever yesterday when I found I was sharing the cubicle with an enormous black spider. I think I trod on it at one point, but it hasn't been seen since

that raises a few questions about my wife ...........................Mid A 15 wrote:are hysterically frightened of tiny little spiders and Daddy Long Legs yet remain totally calm in the presence of boisterous large dogs?

A friend of 70 plus years whose dog we had to bury 2 years ago has got another "pup" which frightens my wife. Being a pup it is inquisitive and over-friendly (and also slobbers). It is already so big that I have trouble avoiding being pushed over. Another friend has two Newfoundlanders - even bigger than Peter's St Bernard.
OTOH she is not keen on the spiders which used to come into the house and as for the hornets on the grapes (outside, I must stress) and 3 foot snakes (grass) .......................
What happens if a politician drowns in a river? That is pollution.
What happens if all of them drown? That is solution!!!

I don't mind spiders etc but I do NOT like scorpions. One time, in Borneo, I had just got out of bed and was ensconced on the loo only to see a scorpion staring at me!! I pulled my feet up and wondered what to do next (John was 700 miles away at the other end of the island). Somehow I got out of the bathroom and got dressed then chased it out with a broom.
By sheer chance that afternoon we had our three monthly spraying of the garden by 'Borneo Pest Control'. I asked them what to do for scorpions in the bathroom, the chap looked through his papers and then told me, very seriously, that I was not registered for scorpions!! So not only did I have a scorpion there but, horror of horrors, it was an unregistered one!!

am allergic to wasps stings so hate them - rescue spiders and put them out, don't like dogs - terrified of Alsations (got chased by one when I was young across the park and it bit me on the bottom) Can't cope with Cold callers - esp the religious ones... Not keen on daddy long legs (where did that name come from??) usually squash them or get the cats to eat them (hmm nutrition!!) Moths get attracted to my dimmable halogen light in my bedroom and so if I turn it on there is that smell of burnt moth! Loath ants... silly but I got bitten by them when I fell into a nest of them when I was about 7, I had nightmares after that for years - now I treat them with everything nasty (sorry ant but hey - I am bigger) Don't like birds in the house - they should be outside - cats bring them in often alive then let them go for fun! And I could do without slugs, snails and slo-worms...

Pidgeons are flying rats - they have so many mites, bugs and germs as to be classed by and anthropologist (wow long word!) that they are indeed as bad as rats - thank goodness they don't have teeth. Pickles my daughters cat is especially good at catching them and killing them - i just have to chase her out of the house!
I also HATE fruit flies and flies in general (should that have been fly's?)
confused again

pidgeons are pidgeons regardless - like seagulls - they live inland now more than at sea - and the damage they do to ones car!Richard Ruck wrote:Town pigeon yes, wood pigeons no.Jude wrote:Pidgeons are flying rats - they have so many mites, bugs and germs
