Should there be a law banning Christmas adverts until December?

Christmas adverts

Post by marty »

Saw my first Christmas advert on the telly today. It's not even November!!! Surely they should pass a law to stop anyone advertising Christmas until December? I can't stand it any longer.
My therapist says I have a preoccupation with vengeance. We’ll see about that.

I agree.

And already :offtopic: why are people on telly wearing poppies two weeks before Remembrance Day? It doesn't take 2 weeks to prepare for that.

Argos has their Xmas ad out. A father climbs on the chimney and jumps onto a star to get his son a Scalextric... yeeees, that really will solve all present problems ...

For once, I voted YES !

(I already know what Fiona's getting for Christmas. The words 'Santa' and 'Stockings' spring to mind !)

sorry to sound all religious, but Christmas happens AFTER Advent.

BTW Marks & Spencers had mince pies and Christmas puddings on display in the shop in Balham in SEPTEMBER. When I complained to the security guard, he said people like to spread the cost. I said I don't want to buy mince pies that won't go off in over three months as it suggests they might have a few chemicals in to preserve them. He looked fairly sick and said good point, hadn't thought of that. On closer inspection the BB date was 26/12/06.

I've nothing against them selling mince pies all year round, but these were marketed as Christmas (sorry, festive season - remove the religion) mince pies.
