What chance does a fundamentalist who only managed to set fire to himself honestly have ?
This great country of ours, (Yes, I think I can still say that), is renowned worldwide for its back-bone and spirit and our S.A.S, is feared and respected in every country in the world.
I agree, John. We all have to behave as normally as possible, and cut the amount of press speculation.

This is a good philosophical argument - if you don't know about it then does it exist? It would be one way of taking the wind out of the sails of any would-be terrorist. But I don't know how one could apply that objectively to any given incident. After all, one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter, eg. Nelson Mandela. Individually the answer would be to avoid the TV, radio bulletins and newspapers but that annexes all the good things that happen in the world.

When has JR ever been known to 'behave normally' ?!!!!!!
My therapist says I have a preoccupation with vengeance. We’ll see about that.
Hopefully I'm going to make it down to CH on Saturday, last time I tried it was just after 7/7 and arriving at St. Pancras/crossing London on the tube would have been so much fun that I didn't bother. This time it will be 7/7!
So to any jihadists reading this, please wait until after 2pm when I will have safely arrived at the Bax..

I'm sure they will be generous enough to accomodate your personal travel plans into any murderous scheme that might be in the offing.

Perfectly sound argument which forces one to get off the fence and decide whether you want to be meat for Muslim bombs or the sword of Damocles hanging over those Muslims who do not toe the "British" line.
It was mentioned that in the 80's the IRA and Sinn Fein could not be allowed to put their propaganda on the TV and radio; perfectly reasonable precedent to follow.
I was interested to hear that the government has suggested to Mosques that they do not go to up-country Pakistan to recruit their Imams; seems amazing that Imams are not trained in the UK. (Over here the training of any religeous leaders is not allowed so they import radical Imams from Saudi Arabia - and seem to be regretting that)
What happens if a politician drowns in a river? That is pollution.
What happens if all of them drown? That is solution!!!
Just watching an old "Have I got News for you" on UKTV (from about 6/7 months ago) and that red-haired doctor is on it. One of his comments was that you could be a locum in the NHS for years and no-one would say a word "as I was saying to Dr Bin Laden only the other day". I wonder if they put that one on deliberately or if it just coincidence.
"If a man speaks, and there isn't a woman to hear him, is he still wrong?"

As long as this happens in a somewhat less farcical way. I'm sure everyone remembers the ludicrous spectacle of Gerry Adams and co. appearing on news reports with actors speaking their words, as we were not permitted to hear their voices.
If we attended a hospital clinic and the 'specialist' was obviously of Eastern Muslim extraction, would we have the right to refuse to allow him/her to treat us, on the grounds they may be planning to kill us, or would that be considered racist ???
There was a very interesting article in The Observer on Sunday, written by a guy who used to be a member of one of the jihadist groups and has now renounced it, about why young Muslims are 'joining up'. http://observer.guardian.co.uk/comment/ ... 32,00.html

Great news but I can't help but wonder if this isn't just Hamas trying to placate the West because someone is wise enough to see what will happen if the fundamentalists carry on the way they are !
