Hi all,
I'm sure quite a lot of you know, but Mrs Plum is expecting a baby! The baby is due on my brithday (May 3rd!)
I'm sure life will never be the same again!

Good timing! I wanted my youngest to be born on my birthday but she turned up 3 days later which was actually her due date!Great Plum wrote:Hi all,

What is it with birthdays and babies, our younger son's birthday is 2 days after mine. You'd better warn Mrs Plum that when Little Plum is about 5 and the birthdays are approaching she will hear a shrill little voice saying "I'm going to be 6 and Mummy will be ...!!"
Congratulations and very best wishes to Mrs Plum.

Congratulations to you both! She has timed it to perfection with the news that it is now considered ok for women to have the odd drink during pregnancy

Re: Little Plum...
I can confirm this We had told our eldest when she was around 5 that mummy & daddy were 21! We didn't bank on her retaining this info & when it came to my next birthday I duly received a card with "22" on it We didn't have the heart to tell her and it was only last year we broke the news and she burst into tears!!!Katharine wrote:when Little Plum is about 5 and the birthdays are approaching she will hear a shrill little voice saying "I'm going to be 6 and Mummy will be ...!!"

Me too. We were going into some attraction or other which was free for under 5's and my sister was nearly 5 (it must have been a Christmas thing as her birthday is Jan 8th) and the attendant asked her how old she was, "I am NEARLY 5 but Philip (brother) is 6 and Mummy is 39"

Absolutely thrilled about your wonderful news, Great and Mrs Plum!
Select a comfortable chair now, Mrs Plum. Relax into it. Allow him to do everything.
Boy or girl? I wonder! It's so exciting!

Didn't notice this sexist comment last time. I am sure DR would have had something to say about it.Mid A 15 wrote:Congratulations

As a married man and father of three daughters no sexism intended!englishangel wrote:Didn't notice this sexist comment last time. I am sure DR would have had something to say about it.Mid A 15 wrote:Congratulations

However as somebody who has a similar love of cricket to Plum Senior (but sadly never his playing ability!) I have failed dismally to get either my wife or any of my daughters to take an interest in the game. Football, rugby and athletics yes but cricket no. Hence my comment.
I must confess also to forgetting the fine cricketing traditions of Hertford for which I apologise!

Oh boy!!! Heee heee heee!! Get out and about whilst you can - both of you!! Life is NEVER the same after the patter of little feet - or to be more honest the lungs at top volume at 3am......
Congratualtions to you both - I have finally got mine off my hands! Both are now out and about (Well daughter is still at Uni, so still has her room here...) but SHE HAS PASSED HER DRIVING TEST!!!! Oh what a relief - gulp, except she is the baby, and is 21 in Feb.... I now feel horribly old......

Re: Little Plum...
Warmest congratulations Mr & Mrs Plum. You should prepare yourself for the first time you see your child Matt, it was the most overpowering experience of my life both times. It is a mix of: - Wow, we did that!, Oh God I am not mature enough for this! & finally, Oh God do I love this child or what!
Again, congratulations.
Again, congratulations.
