Thanks Guys and Gals !

I had a relaxing lay-in, then turned on my mobile to be greeted by loads of text's, the majority of which concern footy.

Oh, the joys of the football world.

Jan and I intend fairly quiet day with immediate family, a nice meal this evening, and a drink or three.

Once again, thanks Guys and Gals.

I've just had a phone call wishing me happy birthday from my half-brother who I only discovered three months ago. I was adopted at three weeks, and our girls started the search into my blood-line past some time ago.

Pat, who is my maternal, not paternal brother and I made contact by phone a month ago and we keep in touch at least weekly by e-mail and are going to meet up in August, at least 60 years after births.

I'm probably feeling just as as emotional at this time as I was since the birth of our daughters.

Here endeth the lesson.

Oh gosh, John... what a sad but also uplifting story. You and your new found sibling ought to be on the telly...?
Seriously, I hope that you and your half brother will 'click' (perhaps you are both interested in football?) and that the connection will open up a whole new arena of family relationships for both of you.

If it's not too painful, perhaps you can keep us posted? Will certainly be thinking of you in August....

In the meantime, hope the bevvys are flowing tonight! No worries about the year. I'm only 7 months behind you!
