Many congratulations Maggie and Joe from both of us, we beat you to it!

On Sunday night we had dinner out and there was a small wedding party there. The restaurant had piped Happy Anniversary on our dessert plates, and as the bride left she walked right past me so I congratulated her and told her that we had a 40 year start on them! They seemed very happy to meet us and insisted on kissing us! may your anniversary bring lovely surprises too!

Congratulations to both Midget and Katharine and their husbands. Forty years is a great achievement these days; may you enjoy many more happy years. My in-laws and my aunt and uncle have just celebrated their diamonds so you have lots to look forward to!

Thank you for your good wishes. Like the two old codgers that we are, we decided that the weather was too foul to go out, so we had a Thai takeaway (M&S style). I somehow doubt that we'll make it to a diamond anniversary, and if we do we probably won't know anything about it!!.
