Re: Mars
Oh dear, being glib and facetious once too often has got me into trouble . I wasn't just being ironic - I really am not using it to look at dodgy websites! I work from home, if I wanted to look at porn I wouldn't need to use a proxy serviceenglishangel wrote:You wicked woman
And now I'm shutting up in case anyone thinks the lady doth protest too much!

Re: Mars
Oh dear - so the bright star I spotted at 4.05 am from the window of my daughter's 'guest suite' was really nothing special! However I did at the same time notice that unusually the main gates on the building site immediately opposite were wide open, which didn't seem right. At 7 am the first man on site looked very puzzled too and there have been comings and goings of more puzzled men. I suspect that the last man to leave yesterday just forgot to lock up - a potential disaster on a bank holiday weekend. Someone will be getting a rocket when they sort out who was responsible. I am trying to remember whether or not the gates were closed when I watched my 'son in law' arrive home last night and do his usual U-turn in front of them.

You are correct but oh! why do I bovver: grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrhAlan P5age wrote: Looking at the moon tonight, I think the star that is bright and next to it is more likely to be Jupiter as they tend to come into partnership at least once a year. I remember it happening throughout my childhood.
OK so that was at a particular stated time and refers to the view from here on a night of great clarity. On the eastern horizon, far too close to the moon to be easily seen are Jupiter and Uranus, the one almost on top of the other.

Re: Mars
There has been a very bright object in the eastern sky at around 11pm of recent nights, even with the bright moon.

David - sadly when I am away from home and it is 4 o'clock in the morning I am unlikely to have ready to hand my computer bearing your words of wisdom!!
