I see that the "Powers that be" are NOW considering if we will be able to meet future commitments ---

None! Of course it is the politicos who decide to go to war / attack some erk who has insulted them /not paid enough baksheesh or whatever/ fight because Washington has ordered us to. Our ability to meet a commitment is never considered. The generals, admirals and air Marshals know but are not listened to; theirs but to do or die.

I think Harold Wilson's claim to greatness is that he kept us out of Vietnam.

For years, when I was on "The Reserve" --- I kept polishing my medals ----- but nobody called !
I can't think why, I was actually being promoted as the years went by !


Could it possibly be, that they had had enough of me, when I was "With the Colours" ------ ? :oops:
