How terrific to have a message from you lonelymom! Lovely! Thank you, it has been a marvellous birthday.

Yesterday, a trip to Whitby, where I ate far too much lunch + cups of good Yorkshire tea, and therefore tottered forth for the beach, nearly passing beneath the wheels of the famous Whitby steam tram. Later, on facebook, I learn from Jo that this tram is operated by her cousin and it is a major attraction at the Lord Mayor's Show!

Connections, eh?

I'm also sorry I missed it ----- but glad it was a good one --- Belated best wishes !
TBA believes that Yorkshire is God's own County --- she came South when 15 years old --- and still says "I COME FROM YORKSHIRE 1 "

NEILL, thank you very much! This is incredibly late to thank you for your birthday greetings , I know, but I've been really behind with correspondence. My old computer died suddenly after a brief illness. It was eight years old, and I am grateful that it did have a long and happy life, but, you know, at the end, it seemed kinder to put it out of its misery.

Touchingly enough, the last contact it felt able to make was with Facebook. So it was able to say goodbye to all its friends.

And now - I have a pink laptop. It's speedy, witty and a little bit sassy. I just know we are going to be happy together!
