Private message for the eyes of Munch and Liz P only
Hi everyone
Especially the boys, who have clearly not arrived here by accident.
Munch and Liz, I have sent each of a you a private message, which can be accessed by going to the forum index page and clicking on the 'View Your Messages' link beneath the right hand drum.
Of course, you may have read the messages and decided to ignore me

given up
Hi Caroline
I was so thrilled to hear I had a private message but very miffed that I can't find it, despite faithfully obeying the (very easy) instructions you sent.
I'm told I have "no new messages" . Shucks!
My first private message and I don't get it....now you'll have to send it on the public forum and all the nosy people will be busting themselves to read it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Perhaps someone who knows better how this thing works could explain where I may be going wrong?

She should have it in her sent box still so maybe she can try and forward it again. Alternatively maybe your other friend could forward it if she still has it .

Um, er, ahem, er, don't quite know how to admit this, but, er, the messages aren't in my sent box, which means that they won't be in your or Munch's inboxes. Bu**er: wonder where they went. I haven't a clue what I wrote, but will go back over the posts and attempt to send you another one.
Sorry

OK, now I understand.
I didn't enter anything in the subject box, and then, because I wasn't writing about anything in particular, I ignored the message which said that I had to blah, blah, blah, and so my messages were sent to the great trash can in the sky.
Now, if I were using a Mac, instead of a PC (boo, hiss), I bet I would have got an explanatory message along the lines of 'Now, Caroline, if you don't type anything into the subject line, your message won't make it to the recipient'.

AHA ( Lightbulb switching on emoticon) so THAT'S why "Friend of Alex"
uses a MAC. According to icomefromdownunder they are idiot proof !
I've had trouble accessing my messages, reading the old ones etc sometimes.
BTW Liz and Caroline...."Friend of Alex" is putting the finishing touches to the "Carols from CH" DVD. ( the original copy was all one track...so he's doing a new version with the tracks separated AND using some new software he's discovered that gets rid of most of the vinyl pops and scratches). I'll put up another ad on a music thread when it's ready (didn't englishangel want a copy too ?) in case anyone else wants one. Meanwhile pls email me your addresses so I can send them in time for Xmas . alexandrathrift@yahoo.co.uk
