CHARITY CONCERTS IN AID OF AFRICA

PHOENIX TRIO CONCERTS

Rachel (Pierce) and Elizabeth (Tucker) and Beryl (Underhill) invite you to a concert of their new Phoenix Piano Trio. Rachel will be playing the cello, Elizabeth the piano and Beryl will be playing the violin.

We will be playing movements from trios that we particularly enjoy, and want to share with you.

The first concert will be at 8 p.m. on Thursday May 10th at St. John’s Church Friern Barnet Road, and the second will be at the Bourne Methodist Church, Southgate, at 7 p.m. on Saturday May 12th. There will be refreshments at the end of each one.

We are suggesting that you might like to support one of the following three charities: HOPE (Handicapped Orphaned Poor and Exploited children) Rachel’s charity, the church in Mozambique which is the link parish of Elizabeth’s church, and this time Christian Aid, just before Christian Aid week begins, to include Beryl’s church as well. Gift Aid envelopes for all three will be available at each concert.

Directions: St. John’s Church is accessible by bus 43, which goes along Friern Barnet Road and turns into its terminus just near the church, or 134, to the Friern Barnet end of Colney Hatch Lane and you need to turn right for a short walk to the church, from the Highgate tube station, (Northern Line) bus stop in Muswell Hill Road just round the corner from the exit, or by the 221 from Bounds Green, (Piccadilly Line) which comes along Friern Barnet Road from the East on its way to Finchley and the church is on the left.

The Bourne Methodist Church is easy walking distance from Southgate (Piccadilly Line) tube station, and is in the Bourne, near Queen Elizabeth Drive. Buses which go to Southgate tube station are 121, 125, 298, W6 and W9.

If you come by car, both churches are clearly marked in the A-Z and we suggest you come in good time because parking is in roads that are full of cars…….

We enormously look forward to hearing from you whether you can come, and look forward greatly to seeing you.

If you are unable to come and want to support us, please tell us and we will send you the relevant charity envelopes which will enable us to claim Gift Aid when you return them to us.

Thank you very much!
