I'm sorry you are going to disappoint us,Angela. I needed cheering up, as Joe has been in hospital since last weekend, when he had a heart attack. They eventually got him to Exeter (after they had cleared an outbreak of the dreaded D&V bug), did an angiogram, which showed he had an extremely healthy heart for an 82 yr old, upon which he got the bug. He is now, as I type on the way back to Barnstaple, where they will discharge him into my care, so I feel more chirpy now.

I'm sure the Moderators are broad-minded,aren't you, gentlemen?

Oh, Maggie! I'm thinking loads of you and lovely Joe, and feel so relieved for you that he's coming back home. Hoping he'll soon be restored to health in your expert care!

Now Mggie, don't forget I'm not far off and if you need any errand running, any mission done, any heavy object lifted - just give me a call and I'll come running oh - I'll pm you my number - anything at all.

Love to you both

Angela

Oh Maggie, I'm so sorry to hear that - you must have been terrified. And poor Joe, too, of course.

As Joe's heart is so healthy, it would surely be safe for him to see an image of a corset-clad Munch, which would possibly be highly therapeutic.

How could the Mods object?

Maggie, sorry to hear about Joe and hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.

Reviving this thread reminds me that I saw a programme on TV a while back about Judy Evans, who was in 6's and was head girl in about 1968. She became a plastic surgeon and something of a novelty as there are apparently very few female plastic surgeons (certainly at consultant level) and so featured in her very own documentary. One of the reasons she mentioned for specialising particularly in plastic surgery was that she'd been to a school which placed such a heavy emphasis on needlework. I think she was only being slightly facetious.

I am thinking of you too Maggie.

Re: Judy Evans, her sister Penny was in 7's my year, ( and I cannot believe that not a single 7's posts on here tho' Judy Furnival has recently joined the Forum) but even stranger there is another Judy Evans who is also a plastic surgeon (in North Wales I think) she has been on "The Weakest Link - women doing men's jobs" and specialises in (ahem) men's bits.

When I returned from my own trip to the hospital this am, Sir was out, he,d got bored, and decided to have "a little walk". No apparent ill effects.

That sounds good Maggie.

I am just back from taking an overnight case to Ysbyty Gwynedd (Gwynedd Hospital) as John was unexpectedly kept in overnight - I had not gone with him as we thought it was routine test and I am full of a cold. Only hope it is routine and that we know some more tomorrow.

Pleased to hear that.

You just need to make sure he doesn't attempt too much too soon but it is encouraging that he wants to do things.

I'm glad to see that Maggie's Joe is making a good recovery but sorry about John, Katharine. I hope it is something routine and he will be home soon. Thank you by the way for the intriguing squidgy envelope, which I shall have opened in three weeks' time!
