Thanks, Mrs C, that would be right, I left school Christmas 1965 but went to Uni in 1966. I should also be there for Grinling prize (don't know who Grinling was!) also for 1966. That was the only prize which could be awarded after you left. I think I shared it wih Anne-Marie Kelly who went to Somerville for Greats.Mrs C. wrote:Names on panels outside Court Room are of girls being awarded prizes, exhibitions, etc (including one Katharine Hills 1966 I think!), plus Headmasters/mistresses, and a list of the girls who came to Horsham. Not sure about lists of monitors - they are certainly not there.

Sorry to change the subject but earlier in this thread ( " Posh School" btw)
Great Plum asked whether we played Lacrosse.
Well, I have a recollection of seeing a couple of ancient Lacrosse sticks lurking in a Pavilion ( either at the school or at Ashbourne ) along with some antique cat gut,funny-shaped tennis racquets.
I think Lacrosse was played back in the Thirties or something.Maybe Midget knows.

Was that the one for girls going on to nursing or similar? If so my aunt Helen Hills 193? should be there. I don't think I ever really knew what the Robertson Gift or the Craig Prize (?)were for. Grinling was academic excellence in a particular subject.englishangel wrote:Also , Robertson Gift Mary Vincett 1972.

Service to the school.
I wasn't a prefect as there were only 2 Upper Sixth in 2's and no Lower Sixth who could be mons (as happened in 4's)so neither of us could go to the prefects flat.
I had been so well-behaved throughout my schooling they had to give me something.

I ain't that old! We didn't play lacrosse in my time thank goodness, it would have been even more terrifying than hockeyAlexandra Thrift wrote:Sorry to change the subject but earlier in this thread ( " Posh School" btw)

Have checked - about 24 names - "the final year who moved to Horsham" would that make sense - i think I got it correct!Mrs C. wrote:There only seem to be about 20 or so names there - only had a very quick look though . I`ll try and check again tomorrow!
