Probably the best uni in the world... or something! ;)

Anyway, I was there from 1999 - 2004 and loved it so if anyone wants any advice or anything like that, I'd be more than happy to help out!

It was fantastic when I was there? Did you go? What hall were you in?

A long time ago!!
Wasn`t in hall - it was the year of the housing crisis and lots were put up in the barracks! Was in digs, then Lafrowda for 3 years!!

Haldon and Lafrowda here...a.k.a the Norweigian prison. Having pizza takeaway opposite in Cornwall House went some way to make up for it.

Haldon was part of Birks wasn't it? Now gratefully demolished - Birks is rising from the ashes as an en-suite state of the art hall...

Lafrowda is still a dive!

Birks has GONE? Hurrah. I hated it, especially cardiac hill.

I know, it was a dive... I had a girlfriend once in Birks and it was a relief when I stipped going out with her for having to go up and down the hill!

my strongest memory of it from my interview was that f***ing hill. don't mention THAT in the prospectus do they?!
i also remember the SU bar looking lovely but rediculously expensive. thus defeating the point of having an SU bar (cause or effect of the toffs, do you think?)
very good for languages though, until the Vice Chancellor axes them.

I used to take people round on open day and it always broke my heart to hear people moan about their 'unfair offer' especially from the French dept, who were unnecessarily mean.

Linguistically, I had *some* fun but found it did not compare to Messrs Oliphant, Cunningham and Alexander for quality or interest.
