Solitary Confinement for Child Abusers, and the like --- is usually for their own protection !

An Uncle (By Marriage) of mine, was a Prison Officer for many years, before, and during the, War --- he always remarked that Prisoners were conservative --- with a small "c" and contrary to any Prison Regulations, the Officer in charge woud say to the Prisoners "I'm just going down the end of the corridor --- be good "

And then return to arrange for the remains to be taken to the Medical Wing -- where my Uncle was waiting to receive them for "Patching up "

Of course, this could not happen today ----- Human Rights !!!

I have a friend in the village who is a retired Prison Officer.
An Aberdonian who specialised in Riot Control.
Judging from his stories, I am not so sure that it could not happen today.

I can assure you it can, and does still happen today, IF, the prisoner doen't request segregation as is his right, (Rule 51 ??), for his own protection.

Even murderers and armed robbers consider 'nonces' the lowest of the low. Even lower than prison officers,
