Can't stop smiling! (It's me again, Mr V has released his vice like grip on the computer and gone to work!)

I phoned the school and told the head who squealed louder than I did on finding out! She's had a lot of involvement in the assessment process, as Daisy took the initial assessment there, then finished the January papers there too after she fell ill whilst on the residential assessment. I asked her to tell Daisy, she then allowed Daisy to phone me, can't wait to see her this afternoon!

Congratulations to those who have been accepted. Commiserations to those who have not.

No idea - but on past experience we will not get letter until Monday

I too have recieved the letter today offering my daughter a place and have turned into a sniveling wreck! Proud but the reality feels unbearable. Is this normal behaviour??

Well done everybody. Congratulations all round for those hard working kids and their parents! The end of the line at last! Only the hard work of seven years of school left, and that'll be a doddle compared with this!

Well as i said the school has more experience than us of this - i would expect it related to social issues or literacy.

Just have to hope that he did okay on the exam for the local grammar where he came down with flu straight after - otherwise it is the local sports specialist sink comp

Dr Mummy - your reaction is completely normal, knowing that for the next 7 years your child will be spending more time away from home than actually at home is scary!!

There's lots of info on here that you'll find useful, but it can be hard to find answers to questions you might have by trawling through pages and pages of topics. So, if you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask away, none of us bite (With the possible exception of JR?)

I am actually having the opposite issue - i was quite prepared for 7 years without him for 6mths each year.

CH have mentioned King Edwards Witney - does anyone know anything about the school - it is nearly as far from us as CH and until today i had no idea it was a sister school (was bridewell hospital apparently). No idea what kind of bursaries they might do as full boarding fees are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy out of our league and day commute would be impossible (40miles each way)

I didn't know CH had a sister school??? That is the first time I've ever heard anything like that at all! Have I been asleep for the last 5 years, or is this a new association?
