Does anyone know whether there is a CH cricket jumper?

We were advised to get one as it can get very cold in their polyester tops. The one we got is a plain cream sleeveless one.

I seem to remember that a cricket jumper was part of the 'must-buy' from John Lewis in the 50's !

Not only can it be chilly out on the cricket squares, because CH is so open, it can be pretty windy as well.

In fact, there was a 'mini' tornado in my day. Nothing like the U.S.A of course !

I will definitely get D.S a new jumper, he had one at C.H last year (his old cricket club one) but he has now grown out of it. With the weather the way it is at present it is essential ! I can get him a plain one no problem, I just wondered whether there was such a thing as a CH logo sweater?

Back in the dark ages when I (and Howard) were lads there was a "CH logo" type sweater but only those whom had been awarded their 1st X1 colours were permitted to wear it. Everyone else wore plain white.

Ah - that probably explains it, I bet it's still the same. Oh well I shall encourage my son to keep up the bowling practice so he can one day make the first X1 !

I think there is crested stuff, we missed the cricket sale, but on my cricket thread there is a link to the suppliers. I don't know if that helps? If you email thrifty matron there might be one in the thrift shop?

You're both mere young whipper-snappers as far as one or two of us on here are concerned !

I do have several plain cricket sweaters in the Thrift Shop at very reasonable prices (from £4 for sleeveless and £5 for long sleeved) as well as other cricket clothing etc. The shop will be open from 4 - 6.30pm on Sunday.

Sadly it is only the 1st XI who have crested jumpers.
The cost is prohibitive for youngsters to have them in my view. (Yes I was a CH parent once, too!!!!!)

I'll tell him to keep practcising his leg breaks & maybe one day he will get to wear a crested sweater!
