Our deadline for the paperwork was May 11th, has anyone who had the same date been notified of their contributions for next year yet?
I'm getting desperate to know what ours will be!

Ours came last week too. Yet another substantial increase in contribution, with no information as to how this has been calculated. :(

I'm sorry, I'm sure someone probably asks the same question every year, but it is helpful for me to know.
Still nothing today...

I phoned on Friday, as I had one of those 2am worries that our form hadn't arrived and we'd have to pay the ful 27k! Our bursery notification arrived on Saturday :D .

Not a huge increase if you take into account the fact that fees have increased by 2K

I emailed, this is the response I got.

"I will advise you of your next year's bursary award as soon as I am able, I have to re-assess the whole school so it does take a while!"

I feel like I shouldn't have asked!

True, there's been a whopping 8% rise in the full fees this year. This probably reflects in part the fact that the cost of essentials like food, fuel and utilities has also been rising steeply. The problem is that we've all got to budget for these costs, and for most familes the one thing that hasn't been going up is household income - in fact for many public sector employees a combination of pay freezes and pension contribution increases means that disposable income has actually been reduced. In these circumstances even a modest increase in CH contributions is going to be a problem!

I seem to remember the HM reassuring current parents that our contributions would continue to be linked to assessed income rather than calculated as a fixed percentage of the full fees as set out in the new bursaries policy.

I got the same response when I phoned! The thing is, last year my notification did get lost, as did a number of other parents, if I remember rightly

Question for John H.

Hi John. I'm intrigued to know if there has been any discussion on this matter within the conclave of CHOBA at all ?

I will go on to say that I have received a long PM on the subject from a worried parent of a present pupil.

Well, we have just had a 11% increase. That on a smaller income than last year. I honestly have no idea why the increase should be that large!

Which matter, JR? The worry of rising fees, or the problem of poor communication?

And I'd be interested to know; what exactly is the role of CHOBA, how are its members chosen, and do they have any influence over such issues?
