Can anyone's children remember whether there is a timed story which has to be written in the initial assessment? My ds who is at the school can't remember :?

I'm swaying between panicking that my ds2 will get in, and panicking that he won't!

Hi I am sure dd had to do a piece of creative writing from a suggested title but I can't remember if there was a choice of subject, if just one was set or if it was their own choice. Sorry to be vague but it was nearly 3 years ago now :?

Both my others had no choice - it was a passage and they had to continue the story. See you on Saturday Pinkhebe. Hope we recognise each other as it has been nearly a year! Mind you, I will have DD with me as well as older son. We are on the afternoon session; how about you?

We're in the morning! I suspect though most of the morning will be spent in the car park reading my book, as I have to wait until 11am when son 1 finishes for half term, and then have to wait around for another hour and a half before collecting son no2 from the assessment

Good luck to everyone, especially those siblings! Reckon there is that bit of extra pressure on them...

We had the afternoon session, ended up requesting a late pick up for Ds, so we didn't spend the entire day driving up & down the a281!

All done now, just got to get through the next two weeks until results. Dd so desperately wants to follow her brother, she was nervous going in & her usual non committal self coming out!! Me - I still feel vaguely sick. With ds if he got a place it was a major bonus, with dd she'll be devastated if she's not offered a place. We are trying to mange her expectation as best as possible, but it's really, really difficult.

Does anyone know when we should hear whether they are through to the next stage? DD thought 3-4 weeks.
