Siblings DLA-Tax credits

Post by Volupturaptor »

Hate calling the school, so thought I'd ask here first...

I'm seriously considering putting in a claim for DLA for my three year old. I know disability benefits don't count for the purpose of calculating contributions for CH, and I know that tax credits do. I've read that if my son does qualify for DLA, we will also get extra tax credits, so what I'm wondering is, would we get to keep the extra tax credits, or does CH count them in with the rest as usual?

Does anybody happen to know?

I have this situation. They do not count the tax credit element due to his being registered disabled, so go ahead and do it!

Thank you so much.
It feels like a very big step to take, so it's good to know it could be a well worthwhile one.
