Thornton is being phased into a girls house, at the moment the B side has girls in it now and A will be filled in September i believe. Then there will be two girls blocks on each avenue half: Thorn and Col
Barnes and Leigh Hunt

Then each avenue half go up to their respective side, (bar my year group when us in BaB to help even out the two houses went to Grecians West as Col was the only girls house on that side!)

I've just taken a photo of my BaB house photo - not brilliant but hopefully you'll be able to see it OK. It's from 1986 so would be in the summer term of the girls first year at Horsham.

The priest is surely Lloyd Whitfeld, who later became a monk who took the name Father Gilbert. He was variously known as "Wind" or "Yo" -- both names apparently came from the curious noise sometimes made by the wind in his classroom.

I was referring to the 1951 pic. You can also see why McConnell was nicknamed "Slim".

I remember you - you probably hated it when I took prep

I do remember Helen vaguely - her brother was in my year.

Thanks for posting the photo, I recognise and can put names to some of the faces but it's a bit worrying how many I can't remember.

I thought it was just me as I can name most in the 1960 photo but so few in the 1966 photo.
So remind me, are you there and where are you?
All I can do is 2nd row from the right
Pinniger, Fisher, Collins, me, ? Johnson, Matron, Brotherton, Bright, Howland, Melvin and White
Top row, 4th from left is Savins, Mclure, Johnson, ?,?
Next row down
?, ?, Hopgood, ?, ?, Dearsley, Savage and that is it.

Tentative bash at some of them.

Front row (l to r) Cade, Morris, King, Salter, Quest, Hillier, ?, Lloyd, Martin, Collingwood

Apologies to the guy with the glasses who I cannot remember / never knew.

I think Shawyer is extreme left 3rd row from the front behind the substantial figure of Pinnegar.

At the risk of upsetting him by getting it wrong I'm hazarding a guess that AKAP is behind Johnson's right shoulder also in the 3rd row from the front.

I also recognised Hopgood jnr and Dearsley as identified by John from the subsequent Mid A connection.

Is the guy between Brotherton and Matron, again 3rd row from front, Hogan?
