Cornwall & Devon - Founder's Day lunch and Everest talk

Post by DavebytheSea »

Cornwall and Devon OBs

Founders Day Lunch - Sunday, November 26th - Lakeview Country Club, Nr Bodmin.

Following lunch, James Hooper will give a presentation. James is a very young Old Blue and the youngest Briton to climb Everest. He planned the expedition when he was meant to be doing his prep in the school library while in his LE year. James has already given talks and presentations all over the UK, as well as in South Africa and he is now touring the USA speaking to many different audiences, so ..... if you have not already confirmed that you are coming please do so without delay. The cost is £18.50 (£10 for any children of school age). This includes a 3 course lunch which will be held in the Garden Room/Conservatory and the Everest Presentation will be in the Events Suite upstairs.

Lakeview is a delightful location and for those with children or who fancy a swim or a sauna before lunch, there is ample opportunity (but please let me know in advance if any of you wish to swim!)

All OBs (and their family and friends) are warmly invited even if you are just on holiday in these parts. The Eden Project is close by and will afford any of you who feel so inclined to walk off any excesses in which you may have indulged over lunch.

The lunch is being held under the auspices of the Christ's Hospital Cruising and Sailing Club and Professor David Taplin, Commodore, will be in the Chair.

If you are interested, please telephone me on 01326 374237 as soon as possible.
