Thanks for that Andrew, I live about 5 miles from Bisley and we are up there and at Purbright (private ground just next door) several times a month but we shoot with shotguns!! So will examine the day and the results with interest. Anyone else on this forum shooting?

Sorry, just phoned friend! Yes Jenny's is still on the NRA ground but we shotgun peasants are not allowed on there so we have to eat bacon butties in the clubhouse!

When you could be eating them outside at Jenny's!

I know, poor me, banging stuff out of the air with a spread of shot when I could be accurate and precise; but then I do that all day at work so it's very theraputic to load a trap at the weekend and blast the hell out of it!!

Jenny's is just next to one of the clay areas.

If you are about on the evening of the 17th July some sort of refreshment will probably be taken once we have finnished!

As for other Old Blues at Bisley the MD of the NSC (company that runs Bisley ranges) and the Chairman of the NRA Council are both (non-shooting) Old Blues.

Will that hit a 6' square at 500 yards?

They have been shooting clays at CH for the last few years. There are a couple of different fields that are used, they set up a couple of traps and the kids use 12 or 16g on them.

With the skeet barrels, probably yes! Is that a barn door? I can usually get that!!

Lucky CH-ers now having shooting on the ground - when I was at Hertford the only sitting ducks were us!!

Bisley, 17th July (ie next Thursday)

Dear all

First sorry to anyone who did not get my earlier emails, I think I may have been using an out of date list....

So far I have the following for next Thursday

Andrew
Simon
Ian
David
Clive
Kim
Alister
??

Which gives me eight names, so I am entering two teams of five. If anyone else would like a go please let me know (if required it would be possible to enter a third team up until Tuesday)

Shooting starts at 17:30 (5.30PM for some..), although it takes a while so we can cope with some people being late (up to about 6.30 ~ 7pm). If you think you will be late please try to let me know in advance (email or 07986105530) as it makes it easier to plan.

We will probably follow the shoot with a quick drink (or several for those not in a hurry to get somewhere)

Regards

Andrew

2009

Dear All,

It's time to think about the PS Vets at Bisley again. This will take place
at
500 yards on Thursday 16th July, starting at about 5pm. Could those who
would like to take part let me know so that I can enter the team(s). I'm
not
sure how many teams we will be able to enter as most of you will have to
have "one to one supervision".

It looks as if we shall have:-
Clive
Kim
Ian
Alister
Gerald
Guy
Simon
Andrew
David

So I will enter two teams of five (I don't think we can cope with more
than
this anyway due to the new rules on supervision). Some will notice that we
still have one space free, so if anyone else wants a go..

Cost is £70.20 per team of five (so £14 each if we manage to find a tenth
person).

Regards

Andrew
