Reunion for 1989 leavers (20 years? Jeez!)

Post by Reuben »

Were you at C.H. from 1982 to 1989 (or thereabouts)?

Then you might be interested to know a reunion is tentatively* planned for Saturday 21st March 2009.

It's all Andrew Reeder's idea, he also set up this Facebook group for it:

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=47268199502

Looking forward to seeing people there.

* It might yet change to fall on Old Blue's Day, or indeed some other day. It depends on what's convenient for the most people.

I don't think it's tentative.

1988 leavers are also invited. I kind of would like to go but for some reason I feel very nervous about going back :?

I know that feeling, Vonny... I was the same before the 86/87 20 years on reunion.

I got in touch with Alison Branch nee Maclagan, who i have been in touch with on and off over the years and we agreed to meet there... we each took our daughters, my hubby came, too and it was actually really good. Having that one familiar face helped us all relax into it. there were a few faces it took me a while to put names to but it was a lovely day.

I think I was originally put off my early OB days when there was a tendancy but some people (no names, no packdrill!) to show off what they had achieved since leaving only a few years before and as I had dropped out of a secretarial course, not gone straight to Uni and sort of lost my way a bit I felt horrible afterwards.... this time it was more about families and 20 years of real life experiences rather than 2 or 3 years of fast-tracking!

Glad I went and hubby has even positively considered the idea of the next generation carrying on the torch, which stunned me! A few years to go, yet, though, so we`ll see.

My advise is to hook up with someone you already know and go for it!

Mx

p.s. sorry about any odd punctuation... my keyboard is stuck on finnish!!

I really don't think I will be there. It's not great timing for me as my eldest is away to London for a week with school that weekend.

Maria - I should have gone last year then I could have hooked up with you!

Lots of people can't make this one on March 21st, so there's a talk of making a special effort to attend this year's Old Blue's Day...

Keep it free in your diary, Vonny!

March 21st is also Rob's and James's memorial service.
