Fear not, you are not alone. It must be our age!

I click on M*M and before it has even loaded my cursor is already over 'Board Index' to get out.

Good point well made!

Nevertheless I thought it valid to ask whether I'm alone in opening a thread in anticipation only to feel a sense of anti climax when discovering that it's just Mallet once again!

I've nothing against Mallet as such. I joined in during the early days to the extent that as of today it still shows as my top thread and accounts for nearly 10% of my posts.

Like I said I'm sad!

Same here! I always click on New Posts or Search Unread Posts when I come to the forum and then only look at the things I want to look at, which no longer include MM! I then Click on Mark Forums Read before I leave so that I don't get the same things again.

Now, this really is sad.

I was attempting to leave a message on a website which I occasionally visit - composed my message, and was confronted by a request for my URL.

What is an URL, and how do I obtain one? I'm sorry to beg for assistance with something which is probably completely obvious to everybody else.

In fact, URL never believe I don't know how to do this!

They are asking for your web page address (just like the forum URL is www.chforum.info)

Normally you can leave that blank, otherwise just write somethiong along the lines of www.private.somewhere (which doesn't exist!)

Thank you David!

Well, I certainly don't have a web page - but will invent something suitable! And now I've added to my mind-stash of Useful Things to Know!

"Sad" -- in the modern sense --- how words change ---

I used to say I was a "Gay young Subaltern"
