Nicola Benedetti to play at St John's with NCO

Post by Iguana »

 This is to let you in on a concert which is being put on by the nCO National Children's Orchestra at St John's Smith Square on 11th September.
Tickets will go on sale at the beginning of August. There will be an open rehearsal in the afternoon (tickets I believe will be £5) before theevening concert. It is to raise funds for the nCO who provide really great playing opportunities for children up to 14 who are too young for national youth Orchestra.
For details on the Natonal children's orchestra please see their website which also has details of how to audition (you don't need to have taken exams though you need to be playaing at teh level) and also detials of play days where children can come and play with players from the orchestra. Courses take place in the Easter and Summer Holdiays mainly with just one weekend in the Autumn term which is in London. Please spread the word. Audition fee is less this year and bursaries are available to help with costs if you get in.

It was a great concert - amazing for under-14's. For those who attend the CH Concert at St John's don't be deterred from taking a (cheaper)seat in the gallery if available - whilst the box office warn there could be a restricted view most seats provide excellent value.
