OLD BLUES DAY - 2015.

Anything that doesn't fit anywhere else, but that's still CH related.

OLD BLUES DAY - 2015.

Post by J.R. »

I have just received my latest CHOBA NEWS by e-mail and noted this item.

"Old Blues Day
From 2015 this event will now take place in the Michaelmas term."

This makes absolutely no difference to me personally, but I would be interested to know what other OB's think about it.

Less chance of a nice sunny day I guess.

Depends on when in the Michaelmas term. I am pretty sure it used to be held in the first few weeks of the Michaelmas term when I was still at CH and just after I left but seem to recall they moved it to April time shortly after as it was a better time of year for those at uni.... I may be wrong (wouldn't be the first time).
Personally I would rather it remained in April but September would be ok for me (unless it's on my birthday, which I guess would be fairly unlikely as that's St Matthews Day!)

I suppose it will reduce the pressure on the school - especially for the Grecians who play quite a prominent role. April/June was always a bit exam-heavy.

It'll be a bit less nice weather-wise, I expect - and I suspect it will be before the second form have learned how to march properly (speaking as someone who was one of those second form and couldn't march properly for a long time!) but in terms of accessibility I don't think it'll be any easier/harder to make OBD.
