I think it is merchant bankers actually, not saxophonists.

no, JR , years of R.K. at Hertford ! ( the sin of Onan, and so forth...the O.T. is full of such useless yet fascinating snippets ...)

I remember the lectures well !!
The Rev. Pullen in my days at Horsham, as I recall ! (Known as Pullen the Chain !) I always wonder about men of the cloth lecturing on such subjects. The story of the Vicar and the choir-boy immediately springs to mind.

I remember the Chain - taught me Divinity as well as telling the class to keep themselves pure for the girl we would meet one day.
Read several books of the OT with him. There was another assistant chaplain I think ... the trio of the cloth was completed by the magnificent Corks - totally extrovert and eclipsing the official chaplains by sheer force of personality.

I seem to remember I was told recently that when he left CH, he took over the Itchingfield Parish and is buried in that Churchyard. I remember he got somewhat exasperated with me during Confirmation classes when I asked him to explain the Church's explanation of Mary's virgin birth !

Hmmm, think you'll have to narrow it down a bit!

I'm afraid the joke is a little too strong, even for our enlightened jokes thread !
