Mark all topics read

I have just discovered a most useful hotspot on the forum called "Mark all topics Read". By clicking on it, one gets rid of all those orangey bits (like the Jokes Thread) that one never wants to read. It certainly saves a huge amount of time when doing the forum and I hope that many of you, like me, will enjoy it. It is to be found on the right hand side of the screen on each page, near the top.

You should also find that when you leave the forum, it marks them all as read then too - simply closing the browser should do it.
Not sure if this is a default setting per-user, or what, but I find it useful and sometimes irritating too (accidental closure of browser, then don't know what's new!)

That one doesn't seem to work for me!

But Julian, don't you have to read everything whether you want to or not? I always assumed that's why you moderators don't post as much as some of us other idlers - because you are far too busy reading all our nonsense in case we have inserted some pernicious something or other!

Seriously, I am delighted that the forum has matured in the last twelve months or so - far less bitching about the school and more positive stuff. Perhaps we have got all our worries off our collective chest now an can move forward.

It might be useful to have a section devoted to seeking advice and help. Useful links to support agencies as well as to information sites related to the school or to various health or welfare problems - how to contact BSB etc. It would have to be structured in such a way that such information could be accessed easily and quickly without slipping into the oblivion of the archives.

Having looked this one up, this is due to cookies which are storing this info, and is a default feature, not easy to change. You must have cookies disabled, at least for this site?

Simon and I do try to read everything, but there are times when I have skim-read most things and skipped a few.....(sorry, I really should be reading everything, especially with you lot!)

All this sounds very sensible - maybe start a topic in the CH Stuff section, and I can mark it as "sticky" so it doesn't slip down the lists?

So a "sticky" "cookie" could be described as an American gelatinous biscuit, then ?

Definitely something to delete !
