Jazz bassoon

Post by eloisec »

I'll be performing the Jazz Piece for Bassoon and Orchestra by Henry Mancini later this year (prob. November) at Dulwich College with the Southwark Concert Band.

So as well as a bit of shameless self-promotion I thought some of you might be interested to hear the bassoon in a jazz setting. This is still a very new path for the bassoon but is increasing in momentum (particularly in America).

The link to listen to jazz bassoon is

I'd better start practicing ...

no, you've just heard jazz bassoon

it's good to leave the world of classical music sometimes, although I have to say the complex nature of the bsn does make playing jazz incredibly difficult. I guess the nearest sound would be a bari sax ... but better obviously
