How awful ...

Both boys are friends of my daughter; how could anyone just leave a bunch of kids lying on the road?

Two possible reasons.

Drunk-Driver.

Un-insured driver, or possibly TDA. (Theft).

Terrible, all the same.

Appalling behaviour, JR has probably got it right after all he years in the Plod. As to how, whichever of JR's reasons they lads were incidental and totally irrelevant to the driver. Not the way we would drive, or behave but ....

I hope the wounded make good recoveries and that none of the group suffer from too many nightmare flashbacks.

Terrible and what callous scum to leave them lying in the road.

I despair of the human condition sometimes.

Thank God though that none of the injuries are life threatening.

There has been a lot of this recently, children AND adults. a bloke went to jail just this week for a hit and run, killing a child. He had been driving 35 years without ever taking a test, so no licence, no insurance. That woman in Bristol who killed a young lad, and a chap was knocked off his bike near here a few weeks ago, leaving his 10 year-old son an orphan as his Mum had died of breast cancer last year. They still haven't caught whoever did it, though they have a good idea and a pic of the car is in nearly every shop window.

I think one of the boys is able to return to school after this leave weekend but the other sadly will be off until the new term in September.

I know this has really shaken up a lot of the pupils. Very bad news and it will have a long term impact on all the boys involved.

My DS has heard that there was something particularly distinctive about the car which may lead it's identification. That may be simply playground talk, I don't know. And whether it will lead to the apprehension of the driver is another story, but it may be a glimmer of hope.
