Gosh, it was all simpler when you had to go up to the big John Lewis up in London!

The Kukri shop is now open again - until 26th July I think - and orders will be delivered to school by 18th September. Poor Matrons will have to sew all the name tapes on...

Why? Are boys incapable of sewing on name tapes? Girls too, I expect, now that they do not have to suffer the same rigours of school needlework that we went through!

It's all the 'cotton-wool' schooling of today I'm afraid, Fjgrogan !

The orders for games kit that were taken by Kukri on New Entrants' Day in May have now arrived at school and are either in the post today or will be by tomorrow. Please note that Kukri's manufacturer of the socks sent black instead of navy blue, which was not apparent until a staff member opened up her own order yesterday, by which time I had packaged all the orders! Kukri do not expect me to return more than one pair to them as proof of the mistake, so the black ones can be kept and used. When the correct colour arrive in school (no idea at present when that will be) we will pass them on to the pupils.

I am also waiting to hear whether the order from the first on-line shop (June orders) will arrive at school by the 21st August ( the date they originally gave) or by 28th August (the date they are currently stating). If the order is not going to be here by 21st, I will contact the parents concerned to let them know. The date now being quoted by Kukri for delivery to school from the 2nd on-line shop (July orders) has changed to 25th September.

If you do not know who I am, I will be recognisable in September as the bald matron, having pulled out all my hair by then.....!

So maybe there IS some truth to the rumour that a new shop has opened in Swan Walk.

I got my Kukri kit in the post today. It is very good quality, and I really like the new tracksuit and the skort. As for the 'Kukri' logo, I don't think it detracts from the look of the kit at all, if anything I think it makes it look better. :D

Noooooooo, a SKORT is a games skirt with built-in shorts, hence the mix of the two words to make skort :)
