The man who invented the production line (first name)

Getting to like him more (surname)

I've rewritten the clue so the first and last name are in the right order

Tarzan was fond of his daughter who was an actress

Now you have to get it!

No no no you silly boy

1) A slight mis-spelling of a VW ghia followed by a daughter in King Lear

Hint - Who was the designer of the VW ******** Ghia? Begins with K

2) What a washing line becomes whan properly used followed by a shortened version of a big hill

What do you use on a washing line?

3) Queen dressed in black takes over top post in university, or college

You surely can get this one - it is easy

OK - first Letitia Dean must be correct (although actress is a dubious label)

Then we have Peggy Mount - OK.

But as for your VW thing - it just doesn't work.

King Lear's daughters were Goneril, Regan and Cordelia I think.
And Ive checked actresses with Carmen / Karmen as their first name
and they're all called Rouggeri or Electra or Lynch or Lee or Scott.

So I give up and am going to do a bit of work for a change......

I am so sorry Rory - I stupidly wrote King Lear and meant to put The Tempest!

I'd better give this pastime up in disgrace

1) A slight mis-spelling of a VW ghia followed by a daughter in The Tempest

Hint - Who was the designer of the VW ******** Ghia? Begins with K

2) What a washing line becomes whan properly used followed by a shortened version of a big hill

Peggy Mount was correct

3) Queen dressed in black takes over top post in university, or college

Which English queen always dressed in mourning after her husband died young and what is the post title for the head of a college - beging with P

Sorry again for the King Lear clue - I am embarrassed
