I agree with Mrs C there are a large number of kids who claim their parens only pay a little in fees and yet manage to have new wardrobes every term etc. My idea is and it is only an idea based on what i knew of people in my year, had divorced parents where the one with the lower income puts it down on the form and the other with possibly much higher ones can spoil the child rotten. THIS IS ONLY AN IDEA PLEASE DO NOT TAKE IT AS ANYTHING BUT!!!
Also it is about a personal need as well so im sure the school review the system and they checking of details as often as needs be

hmm - I have been away for a few days in the forum - so have missed how this changed from How women.. to school fees... I can shed a little light on the matter - having sent son to CH, and being DIVORCED!
All the time that I was divorced (and yes I am still!) the children LIVED with ME - therefore the earning were taken on ME, Myself, I, ony. The Ex didn't have custody - or care and control - I did - so they were my responsibility, and at that point he was playing the "favourite Uncle" and I was the horrid mother. I was studying when Chris 1st went to CH - and there fore paid nothing (he won a scholarship though - so not sure if Glos paid or CH) Once I had started earning money, then my accounts had to be sent to the school and I had to pay a % of what I was earning. All through this the ex was not included - maybe this was because I was an OB,?? Once Chris moved to Millfield, ex paid for him, whilst I paid for daughter at prep school... so at that point interestingly the ex was aslo earning a VAST amount! os he could afford to pay the fees!
But it may well be that whoever the parent who has CARE control and CUSTODY - is the parent who is looked to for income and payment of fees.
But I have to agree that in Chris's time he was WELL behind in clothes, games, tuck, and everything compared to most!
