Tomorrow we are off for the weekend to the Rotary District Conference - all expenses paid but I have a fifteen minute slot for a speech on Sunday morning. This is one of the few speeches I am making this year to a mixed audience. I have been honing it for some time now and think it will do. I don't know how many will be there but probably 200-300.

How much drivel will I find on Monday when I get back? I'll miss you!!

Yes there will, I keep hoping someone will start a intellectual thread that we can all post on and keep on topic with.

You see I keep getting the blame for going off topic when just about everyone here does it and just about everyone writes something daft but because I like to follow it up it seems everyone thinks I am the only one to do it.

The funny thing is when you read posts by people moaning about all the drivel or going off topic and then within three days they then do one or the other or even both.

Isn't this forum big enough to accomodate all types of posting?

It does make me laugh when you read the moans and then later you see they have done the same thing.

Still, I am here to have fun and make new friends from a wonderful old place. I am proud to say that I have done that and now regard all here as treasured friends.

I hope some of the crap I post is in some way humorous

Well you were all right - there is far too much drivel here for me to catch up with everything since Thursday. I hope I answer anything meant for me - but make no promises!!!

All went well on Sunday for my speech - that had given me 15 minutes, three times as long as any of my predecessors. I made the most of it and made some of them THINK - just what I wanted!
