Yes. All new Second Form are called squits, and each squit has a Third Form nursemaid :D

What a pity such truths are only selectively revealed. Parents would undoubtedly appreciate the truth about the calculation of their fees this year, but clearly this one will be closely guarded.

In addition, it would be 'nice' if it were communicated politely and respectfully.
Hear Hear on both counts!!

(Or should that be 'Here here'? How do you spell this; and what does it actually mean?!!)

You wouldn't believe the amount of times I've wanted to write 'here here' of 'hear hear' on this forum, but stopped myself because I didn't know which way to spell it!

"hear ye, hear ye" and "hear him, hear him" - google is a wonderful tool!

Englishangel always comes to my rescue too, in fact, I normally call out for her and she comes rushing to explain :D

Doesn't look much like a 'nurse', to me....but then I acknowledge that I am a dinosaur.

NO, apparently nurses (and doctors) on a night shift in A & E somewhere took photos of each other laying flat out on beds, trolleys and floors and posted them on Facebook. So my little laughing person should be laying down not doing headstands.

p.s. I had no idea if it's "hear, hear" or "here, here" but my bet would have been on the former, as in "I hear and agree".

Funnily enough there's just been a discussion about "hear hear" vs. "here here" on another forum I belong to. "Hear hear" is the correct spelling.

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear. I was enquiring about third-form entry, rather than the existence of squits....

As I was a third form squit, my nursemaid was from the year above (LE). Incidentally, he's now on the CHA Board.

Third form entry is unusual but not that uncommon. LE entry is more common, although the major points of entry remain 7 and 16.
